Habanero's Ripening
It’s a jungle!
It’s like a jungle in the apartment right now! The peppers are ripening and this will be the biggest batch of the summer.
Origin
I planted these peppers at the end of summer 2013, and they have grown well. They are mostly Habanero which I find to be a fantastic variety for making hot sauce.
Heat Factor
Most habaneros rate 200,000 to 300,000 Scoville heat units but I believe mine are hotter!
Check out the Wikipedia article about the Habanero for more info.
Random Fact
The etymology of “ripe” says:
Old English ripe “ready for reaping, fit for eating, mature,”
Told you it was a Jungle!
